ImmUniverse features at IEEE international Ultrasonics Symposium in Canada

The 2023 IEEE International Ultrasonics Symposium (IUS) was held from the 3rd to 8th of September 2023, in Montreal, Canada, at the Palais des congrès de Montréal.

Andrea Cafarelli and Angela Sorriento, from ImmUniverse project partner Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna, presented the latest advancements in LIPUS (Low-intensity pulsed ultrasound) technologies aimed at enabling a liquid biopsy for ulcerative colitis diagnosis.

In particular, the work carried out in collaboration with Humanitas University, titled "Low-intensity pulsed ultrasound stimulation as a disruptive liquid biopsy approach for ulcerative colitis diagnosis", was presented during the “Stimulatory and Therapeutic Bioeffects” session. It garnered attention from leading experts and researchers in the field and it was recognised during the Closing Session as one of the most exciting ideas presented at this year's conference.
